Uno dei pochi articoli gratuiti de Il Sole 24 ore è dedicato agli ottant’anni del libro L’amante di Lady Chatterley.

Racconta lo stesso Lawrence in “A Propos of Lady Chatterley’s Lover” di come lo stampatore, avvertito che il contenuto del romanzo avrebbe potuto portare a problemi con la censura, fosse stato posto di fronte alla scelta se accettare la commissione o meno. Una volta appurato il contenuto, il commento con tipico accento fiorentino era stato: “Oh! Ma! Ma se son cose che noi si fanno tutti i giorni!”

Trent’anni di libri della casa editrice Virago Books. Una bellissima storia, che comincia così:

In questi giorni continuo a leggere e rileggere senza pausa i saggi di Nabokov che compongono Lectures on Literature. Mi fa arrabbiare che sappia scrivere con tale lucidità in inglese. Eppure… eppure… nei suoi scritti c’è un tale amore per la letteratura, la scrittura e i libri in generale, a cui è difficile, almeno per me, resistere.

Un assaggio:

Literature was born not on the day when a boy crying wolf, wolf came running out of the Neanderthal valley with a big gray wolf at his heels: literature was born on the day when a boy came crying wolf, wolf and there was no wolf behind him. That the poor little fellow because he lied too often was finally eaten up by a real beast is quite incidental. But here is what is important. Between the wolf in the tall grass and the wolf in the tall story there is a shimmering go-between. That go-between, that prism, is the art of literature. Da Repubblica, la notizia dell’invenzione della carta intelligente, ideale per promesse da marinaio:

Di certo si sa che la carta intelligente è stata ricoperta da un composto chimico molecolare simile a quello utilizzato nelle lenti colorate, che si scuriscono o schiariscono a seconda della quantità di raggi ultravioletti che le colpiscono, capace di cambiare colore quando esposto a raggi Uv. A differenza delle lenti colorate però la carta cancellabile si cancella gradatamente impiegando dalle 16 alle 24 ore. Invece di usare inchiostro per produrre parole e diagrammi una speciale stampante scannerizza la carta trattata chimicamente con una specifica quantità di luce che reagisce e produce il testo, nelle successive ore il testo andrà a scomparire fino a cancellarsi completamente. Chi avrà bisogno di riutilizzare la carta prima delle 24 ore potrà passarla nella stampante speciale e con una quantità maggiore di luce il foglio sarà di nuovo immacolato, la stampante infatti non utilizza inchiostro e non ha bisogno di cartucce o ricambi. L’obiettivo della Xerox è quello di produrre una carta cancellabile che costa circa il doppio della carta normale ma che può essere utilizzata fino a cento volte.

Forse è ideale per chi preferisce fare la revisione su carta e non sullo schermo?

I have mislaid the list, but as far as I remember the definitions went something like this.

Leggendo ieri le poesie di Antoine Cassar, mi è tornato in mente questo brano, soprattutto l’ultimo paragrafo, tratto da Soggetti nomadi di Rosi Braidotti.

Antoine è un traduttore e poeta, che vive in Lussemburgo. Le sue poesie sono mosaici con tasselli linguistici diversi, sonetti colorati ed evocativi, uniti da un ritmo comune.
